Croatian film.: COWBOYS

Croatian film COWBOYS

In Cowboys, theatre director Sasha returns from the big city to his home town where he is offered to re-start the neglected local theater. The problem is that the city does not have any actors. After they advertise auditions for a new show, five very interesting candidates show up.  Their only common ground in the field of culture is the Western genre – so the director and his new ensemble decide to stage a Western.  The lead roles in the film are played by:

Saša  Anočić,
Živko Anočić,
Hrvoje Barišić,
Kruno Klabučar,
RakanRushaidat,
Radovan Ruždjak,

Carmen rojasI was born on a warm July 29, 1997 in Córdoba (Spain) and at the moment I am living in this beautiful city too. Now I am in my last year of high school and next year I would like to study a Chemistry’s degree. I love sports, specially swimming and football. Others of my hobbies are painting and travelling.

The experience in Comenius project has been one of the best chances in my life and I am really grateful because in this project I have learned a lot of things: I have improved my English, met wonderful people, had the opportunity to do a short funny movie with my friends and specially I have acquired human values. But the most important thing I have learned is something I can summarize in one sentence , an Italian teacher on my trip to Portugal said:
We started the trip being Croatian, Spanish, French, German … today we ended up being friends.

Carmen Rosa Hello everyone. My name’s Carmen, maybe this is one of the most traditional names in my country. I’m from the ole’s country because when I tell someone where I am from they say to me: “Wo Spain! OLÉ!”.

I’m going to tell you a little bit about myself to get to know me: I’m a normal seventeen girl and I like hanging out with my friends, going to parties… and these typical things that a teenager does. But being more personal, I love singing and staying at home while I’m eating chocolate. I’m the oldest sister and I have a cute dog which is called Lolo.

When I was little, I used to want to be shepherdess. Although I’ve changed my opinion, animals are continuing being my passion. I’d like to change the bad things of our world like intolerance or mistreatment, and I think the first step towards peace is the respect to animals, nature and ourselves. For this reason, Comenius project «Working with movies – moving people and their ideas« is a wonderful programme because you learn and practise the essencial human values as empathy. I participated in the first meeting in Tavira and I can say it was the most helpful week I’ve ever lived. Meeting people who have different culture and customs, other ideas and distinct forms of living the life is a experience that change you forever. It showed me that every person and culture has positive aspects, so I took all new and good things I saw. It made me grow up as a person. As I have the luck to participate in the fourth meeting in Croatia I’m going to take full advantage of it. Thanks to the project I’m a stronger person and I want to contribute my grain of sand to change our world. I know it won’t be easy but with effort I will be able to fulfill my ambition.

Cristina MarínHey! I’m Cristina Martín Anguita and I’m studying 1º of Bachillerato.
I’m 16 years old and I like reading, going out with my friends and watching American tv series.
This year I’m taking part on a project of Comenius, I’m going to travel to Croatia with my partners who had recorded a short film about homosexuality. So my part of the work is that I have to show
famous people who were gays in Croatia
I’m really happy because this experience is something that only
happens once in life so I’m going to take advantage of it. And talking
about homosexuality is something that I enjoy so much because there are still a lot of people in the world who are homophobic and that’s not good. It’s only a week in Croatia but is not just the trip, I have to practice about what I’m going to say in front of all that people so I have a responsibility. Anyway, I’m not nervous because I know I’m going to have a great time and I’m going to meet new people. I’m looking forward to it.

davidruizMy name is David, and…I don’t know how to explain my personality in a few lines but I will try it anyway. I like doing sport and going out, and I love animals and nature. I am the typical boy who smiles and laughs with everything, always trying to see the possitive side of the things. I live in a house in the country with my parents and my two younger brothers. As I have said, I love animals, ann I have at home two horses, a cat and a dog. Riding a horse at the countryside, it’s so relaxing and really lovely.

With Comenius Project, I have learnt lots of values and it has canged my mind about different aspects of life and connvivence. And the project has also taught me what means teamwork. We have been working friendly but seriously and the results have been very good until now. Personally, I really enjoy working on Comenius Project and I hope I enjoy the trip to Croatia.

David CastejónHi! My name is David, I’m from Spain and in despite of my short age (16 years old), I think I’m a mature person and I know how to live alone. Between my hobbies I can underline playing video games and playing basket, although
I also like record videos for youtube. I want to learn english for my future job (video games programmer), but I also want to learn it to communicate myself with other people around de world. Well, greetings from Spain, partners.
My name is Rosa and I’ve been a teacher at Gran Capitán secondary school for two years. Before that,I was the coordinator of a Bilingual Project in my previous school, – I’ve always loved getting involved in anything that could help my students to improve their language, their culture and to broaden their minds. So, when I was asked to participate in the Comenius Project, I didn’t hesitate. I can’t deny that having the time that this kind of Project implies is often almost imposible, but when you see that the students are eager to work, to travel, to learn… it is worth the sacrifice.

I am lucky to travel to Croatia with Lourdes and a group of very good and nice students. They’ve worked hard to prepare the meeting and I’m sure they are going to do their best. It’s going to be an unforgettable experience not only for them but also for Lourdes and me.

Finally, I’d also like to thank the other teachers involved in the Project for helping us to prepare the meeting (participating and shooting the short film, travel preparations,…).

Lourdes VenturaHi everybody, students and teachers involved in this project, people from 7 countries!

My name is Lourdes and I am an English teacher in IES Gran Capitán, almost a second home for me because I arrived at this school in 1991-92..

Can you think of a better way to open a new academic year than travelling to a new place and meet colleagues with some of my students?

Next Saturday we will be travelling to Vinkovci, Croatia. This summer the students have worked hard to prepare a short film about tolerance and respect which will be seen and discussed by the rest of teachers and students in the meeting, always under the supervision of our master Antonio Gómez. Comenius project is being a good practise of team work, sharing abilities, ideas, difficulties ..each individual contribution is essential for the project.Hard work and enthusiasm have already been packed in the luggage !!!

Homosexuality in the music

MY EXPERIENCE IN AMIENS

Sara Ruiz Notario. 4º ESO D

Almost two months ago, an incredible adventure started for me: it was the first time I went abroad without my family. I went to Amiens, a town in North-France. I travelled for Comenius Project and I felt very insecure and afraid when I learnt I had been chosen for this trip. But insecurity and fear were bigger when I arrived there, with my four partners and my two teachers. At first, we visited the city centre and I was quite nervous because I was thinking all the time about the moment of meeting my host family. So can you imagine how I felt when I had to go with them to their house? I can’t describe without starting to laugh! The parents names’ were Olivier and Corinne. My partner was Antoine and his younger sister, Anna. They were all nice with me, especially Corinne and Olivier. But when I met them and I saw that my partners and my teachers were going to separate of me, I felt very frightened- I didn’t know why!

They took me to their house by car because they lived in a little village full of amazing houses. During the journey I wasn’t able to say anything. The words didn’t appear in my head. I only wanted three things: drink some water, eat and sleep! I couldn’t concentrate in another thing. However, Olivier tried to talk to me because he could speak Spanish. This saved me the first day.
When I achieved to pass my first day- with some tears streaming down my face in the bathroom because I think I couldn’t comunicate with them during a week- days started to run for me.

The first day we met the other countries’ teams. I have to name the Portuguese and the Croatian teams. They were fantastic! We talked more to Portuguese people and we were so comfortable because we understood them speaking our language! I mean, they spoke in Portuguese and we spoke in Spanish. We were lucky because we had the chance to be with them and I’ll never forget them. They were the best.

Another important person is the host partner of Irene, Émilie. She was very nice and she was my real partner when we weren´’t at Antoine’s home. My partner was friendly but when we finished the activities of the day, he went with his friends or with his girlfriend. He always noticed it to me, but I didn’t consider it properly because he had to be with me. So the person who really did it was Émilie. I hope I’ll see her some day in the future.

I have so much memories, taht I think I won’t be able to write all of them on this paper. It took me a lot of time, so I’m talking about the parts of this experience that were the best for me.

Another normal question from my friends and my family when I returned was about food. `Did you eat well?, they asked. And I always answered that in Antoine’s home was amazing but at the canteen food was terrible! But I was so hungry, that I ate everything, trust me. Corinne cooked only for me-what a nice woman!- typicall French recipes. More over, they gave me some cheese to try and I loved it!

Furthermore, I have realized that I’ve improved my English, especially in the way of speaking- I spoke opposite one hundred people at least with a microphone in my hand! I had to improve, there wasn’t another possibility. So I think that people learn much more a language if they’re forced to speak it to comunicate. Now I understand French better too.

In conclusion, this fantastic jouney has been an excellent opportunity not only to improve my languages; it has learnt me to manage to comunicate with foreigner people- well, the foreigner was me in this way!-, I have met a lot of interesting people and ideas and I’m looking forward to receiving a guy in my house. I must say that there were times that I wanted to return to my house because I missed my family an d my friends but when I was here, I missed France and my host family! Even I felt sad during four days because I wanted to be there with Portuguese people, my partner and his parents; all are in my heart now and are a new part of me. I would want to be with that people or go to another country; but now is the chance for my partners and my friends, and I only can be happy for them because they’re going to live the best experience in tehir lives.
Thanks for all, French, Portuguese, Croatian, Italian. Turkish and German people. You are all amazing.
